Why is China Buried Deep and Silent in US Networks?

You may disregard my opinion about this but what about the opinion of a Retired US Army Lt. General and a very smart CSIO who used to be an Air Force Intelligence Officer?

Retired Lt. Gen H.R. McMaster, who served as the US National Security Advisor during 2017 and 2018 and who had roles in the Gulf War, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom and is now a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, has a scary opinion and I think it is pretty valid.

McMaster testified before the House Committee on Homeland Security

“The Chinese Communist Party is preparing for war in a number of ways,” McMaster said, citing a 44-fold increase in China’s defense spending since 2000 and its ongoing weapons-systems development.

“We can connect what we’ve seen with Volt Typhoon to a broader range of threats, including the massive buildup of their nuclear forces, about a 400 percent increase,” McMaster added. “I know it may seem extreme to say this, but I believe that China is developing a first-strike nuclear capability against us, because why else would you want to cripple all of [America’s] critical infrastructure, including communications infrastructure.”

The Chinese spy balloon that we shot down – no surprise but McMaster said it was there to intercept military communications that could be picked up at that altitude.

Wendi Whitmore, Chief Security Intelligence Officer for network security firm Palo Alto Networks, also testified. She said that they block as many as 31 billion attacks every day – 9 million of which are new, never seen before attack methods.
