The FBI has released its annual cybercrime report. This report only includes cybercrime reported to the FBI, so the numbers are likely way low.

The FBI received 791,790 complaints in 2020 compared to 467,361 complaints received in 2019. This is a 69% increase year over year.

Losses reported were $4.2 billion, up 20% from $3.5 billion in 2019.

This is the fifth year in a row for increases and the trend appears to be getting worse.
