Chinese Claim to Have Broken RSA Encryption with a Quantum Computer

While many web sites and other encryption software have migrated away from RSA, many have not. In addition, there are a lot of other resources, other than web sites, that use encryption.

Also, state actors have been capturing and storing encrypted data for years, maybe decades, hoping one day to decrypt it, so just because you are no longer using RSA does not mean that you did not before.

The Chinese now CLAIM that they have broken RSA 2048 using a quantum computer of a power similar to what will soon be publicly available,

The Chinese researchers wrote a paper describing what they have done and it is a bit of a stretch from where they actually are to what they claim.

Still, it is only a matter of time and probably not much time before they are successful, which is why the White House ordered the entire Executive Branch to get to work planning to replace **ALL** current encryption.

This is a massive task and will take years to implement, but if we don’t get started, it won’t happen. Likewise if YOU don’t get started ….

If what the Chinese currently claim won’t work, don’t assume that they will stop trying. They are spending buckets of money on this.

IF THEY ARE SUCCESSFUL, THAT MEANS ALL FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS ARE AT RISK, ALL PRIVATE DATA IS AT RISK AND THE ABILITY TO HACK AS ONLY A NATION STATE CAN WILL GO UP GEOMETRICALLY. Think of the chaos they can unleash.
